TL;DR

Since we released the first Lenia collection we worked on finishing the unofficial roadmap v1 of Lenia NFT. This included:

  • Setting up the DAO and processes to interact together as a community in the most autonomous and transparent ways
  • Making the collection accessible, decentralized and robust through time

I’m happy to say that it’s done now and the future holds only new things!🔥

The work is finally done!

DAO

The goal of the launch of the first Lenia NFT collection was to foster a community at the intersection of machine learning and NFT. Thanks to its success, we’ve been able to set up a community wallet which will hopefully fund more initiative in this space.

So far, we principally laid down the foundations for a true DATO (Decentralized, Autonomous, and Transparent Organization):

  • From the ground up, we created a transparent piece of work: our work is opensource and/or in the open on the Ethereum blockchain
  • We set up the usual community tools (Twitter, Discord, Medium blog, etc.) in a transparent way.
  • We created the treasury using a gnosis wallet
  • We set up a gas-less voting system using Snapshot
  • We started the autonomation of the voting system with a discord bot
  • We communicated on every move we made so far after the release of the first collection

This foundation work will enable us to interact closely with the community, and ensure that the project remains transparent.

Accessibility and Robustness

In the meantime, we worked on the Lenia NFT collection accessibility and robustness. We wanted to make it easy to explore, robust through time and as much decentralized as possible. Among other things:

  • We created the LeniaDex which allows anyone to visualize the whole collection and its properties easily
  • We built an optimized JS rendering engine using WebAssembly so anyone can enjoy their Lenia in real-time.
  • We stored the Lenia JS rendering engine on-chain
  • We stored all the collection metadata on-chain too
  • We created a self-contained webpage for the generator and replicated it on IPFS + Arweave.
  • We linked together all those information in the ENS domain “lenia.eth

At that point, we consider Lenia NFT to be among the most accessible, decentralized and robust NFT collections on the market!

We strongly believe that the proof-of-ownerships represented by our Ethereum blockchain collection should be paired, as much as possible, by decentralized artworks and accessibility tools.

What’s next?

This is a fantastic milestone for the project. We are now ready to extend the Leniaverse!

We will dedicate a blog post to Roadmap v2 and get into the details but as a sneak peek of the future, we can say that:

  • We will be back in the lab to improve our AI search for Lenia.
  • We will seek collaborations with other ML creators.
  • We will push forward on the crypto front to build an ecosystem!

And much more… Stay tuned! Much love! ❤️
